Fans of Medellín’s “Atlético National” murder young man wearing a “Millonarios” jersey

The Monday, July 10, at 10 pm, a 24-year-old fan of Bogotá’s soccer team (“Millonarios”) died due to multiple stab wounds resulting from a an attack by supporters of Medellín local soccer team, “Atlético National”.

The event occurred in the “Ricaurte” bus station in Bogotá’s downtown. The victim did not know his attackers, and drew their attention due to his jersey. The alleged attackers first began by verbally assaulting the Bogotá fan, but that assault quickly escalated into a homicide as the youths began to stab the man with a sharp incident.

According to police reports, the young victim tried to escape, but collapsed due to blood loss, dying minutes later. The attackers were captured a short time thereafter by the National Police as they were leaving the bus station and will face charges of homicide. They are being held at the city’s Immediate Reaction Unit (URI) in Puente Aranda.
