I3 in Latin America offers a great opportunity to social entrepreneurs
Innovation does not necessarily have to be industry or process-based, according to a news release sent by Ruta-N to Medellin-area entrepreneurs. It can also become an instrument to change people’s lives through social and cultural entrepreneurship and innovation. However, one of the principal issues that these projects experience is the lack of capital and advice.
In response to this needs, the I3 has launched a new program designed to encourage the creation and development of social enterprises directed towards the low-income population. I3 Latin America is a social and cultural entrepreneurship initiative developed by ASHOKA (Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development), a global promoter of social entrepreneurship, along with New Ventures, a platform dedicated to fund and accelerate the development of environmental and social companies, and Hystra, a consulting firm for social initiatives.
Participation in this program has been shown to provide multiple benefits, such as an increased revenue due to a 40% increase in the recognition and visibility it provides to their projects, as well as the opportunity to connect with a vast network of contacts that will assist companies to develop a business strategy that will enable them to be successful and self-sustainable.
For those interested, and in order to be able to enjoy these benefits, an application must be made through their portal, with a deadline of July 23 of the present year. You can find more information by clicking here or go directly to their intake form.
